In his review on BoardGameGeek, Brendan Whyte first turns a critical eye towards the components and rules and lists their shortcomings. Game play fares better: “…the game is fast and quite fun”. Whyte then goes into comprehensive details covering game mechanics and spares no criticism for the game opponent (AI). His discussion concerning solitaire board games vs solitaire computer games is very interesting.

Description:


CC:Pacific is a stand alone game in the card-driven Combat Commander game series. While utilizing Combat Commander: Europe's basic rules, CC:Pacific includes numerous rule tweaks and additions in order to more accurately portray tactical warfare as experienced by the participants in and around the Pacific and Indian Oceans. This will slightly ramp up the complexity of the Combat Commander series while at the same time imparting a bit more depth and realism.

The Boardgames Chronicle provides a replay of Scenario #B Ambush at Mogaung from Combat Commander Pacific published by GMT Games. #B Ambush at Mogaung is a very special scenario. We are in the Northern Burma in June 1944 – in the true Hell on Earth. A battered 77th Chindit Brigade (Michal, Commonwealth, Recon posture) on its retreat stumbles on equally ragged Japanese column (Dave, Japan, Recon posture). The Britih/Indian troops quickly form up an ambush formation and attack the enemy.
