Fast, simple, not expensive, little errata, but only reasonably fun. (War game Review)

In his review on BoardGameGeek, Brendan Whyte first turns a critical eye towards the components and rules and lists their shortcomings. Game play fares better: “…the game is fast and quite fun”. Whyte then goes into comprehensive details covering game mechanics and spares no criticism for the game opponent (AI). His discussion concerning solitaire board games vs solitaire computer games is very interesting.

After-action report of a homebrewed scenario using Yaquinto's "Ironclads" rules. It pits the Royal Navy's ironclads against an assembled American fleet of ironclads and wooden ships, circa 1865. An Excel workbook containing the control sheets for a hypothetical clash between the USN and the Royal Navy circa 1865 that can be used for Ironclads and Shot & Shell games. It uses ships from Ironclads, Ironclads Expansion, and Shot & Shell, although most of the ships are from the expansion kit. The first worksheet ("Vessel Log") is a template for creating additional control sheets. Created and graciously shared by Dav Vandenbroucke.
