From: Roberto Chiavini Mons (Strategy & Tactics) This is the first of the two games offered with the magazine, with the rules taken by the Over the Top system of veterna designer Joe Miranda. Read my review on Lemberg and Verdun here on Grognard to have a view of the system The game itself doesn't use all the optional rules (as these are mostly made for later war scenarios), but it's short and very competitive. In 10 turns, the Germans must try to exit the south edge of the map with the most combat factors they can, while the British must try to make this travel costly in terms of losses. So, it's a run of sort, with several small battles that may be risky for the German player who is forced to taking risks during movement, and most of the turns several of his units will be out of command (with repercussion on their combat capacities). All in all, the game is worth a few replays, as it's fast, competitive and simple without being simplistic. I rate Mons a 6 ½ in a 1-10 scale
