Versailles 1919, published by GMT Games, takes us to the peace conference after The Great War, held in Paris in 1919 for six month. The main decision makers then were Woodrow Wilson (United States), David Lloyd George (United Kingdom), Vittorio Orlando (Italy) and George Clemenceau (France) – and the players step into the boots of those leaders. Designer Mark Herman has come up with another innovative design, this time about the tough negotiations that led to the Treaty of Versailles. Versailles 1919, published by Compass games, simulates the peace conference after World War I. Woodrow Wilson (United States), David Lloyd George (United Kingdom), Vittorio Orlando (Italy) and George Clemenceau (France) tried not only to come up with peace terms for Germany, but also wanted to create a better world. The game uses strategy cards to represent the issues that needed to be settled and a new card bidding system has been added to enhance play. Points are scored for issues settled. Having tried the solo version, The Boardgames Chronicle moves on to the multiplayer version and gives us their perspective on this interesting new design.
