Convention report: Twistercon: Norman, Oklahoma 29-31 MAR 96 I went to the last day of Twistercon here in Norman, OK today. Johnathon Keepers reported to me that Friday was the biggest Friday since Twistercon started four years ago. Saturday was a big success as well with a good auction of good. Sunday I arrived at 11 A.M. The vendor were packing up. I was able to pick up a mint boxed copy of SPI's Patton's Third Army and a punched magazine copy of SPI's Operation Grenade for $5.00 each. This fills out my victory in the West series. At least thirty gamers were still running miniatures games or Eagles card games. I saw Egyptians and their parasol covered chariots (???), British and German soldiers near a mountain and some DBM armies skirmishing on half of the setup tables. (Caution: Grognard ranting) There were two small boys near the age of 12, two kids near age 17 and the rest of the gamers were over 35. It reminded me of AM radio. (CTRL-ALT-DEL to the Grognard) Seeing that this board gamer was not going to find a hot game of SPI's Cobra, I split after joining Tornado Alley HMGS, the biggest gaming club in Oklahoma. Guess I better break out my Marx Brothers Viet Cong miniatures. -- Skip Franklin Oklahoma City, OK skip @ionet.net Visit Skip's Wargame Connection http://www.ionet.net/~skip/
