From: Subject: Re: Sometrhing Completely Different After Action Report: Beer & Loaving in NYC. The 2nd Annual Consim Dinner, Sewing Circle, Book Review, and Timing Association convened last evening at Houlihan's. Attendance was better than expected, with close to 20 warm bodies in attendance. Some of the (in)famous from Consim and Manzanaland were on hand for an evening of thrills and frivolity (would you believe dinner?). His wholly-ness, Pope Richard Berg was on hand to dispense cardboard wafers and riteous ale to the multitudes. Ted Racier, obviously trying to increase his retirement nest egg, announced the grand opening of Crazy Ted's Used Game Emporium - no reasonable offer refused. The highlight of Ted's first sale was hi disposal of CoA's War Without Mercy (which should be entitled Box Art Without Taste) to Mike Nagel,. after Mike swore he was saving up for games this summer (right). The box art for this game appears to have been someone's delayed acid flashback from the 50's -- wouldn't count on an endorsement from the ASPCA on this one, guys. (If you haven't seen the box art on this one, it is worth a trip to the game store just to marvel at it's ugliness. Words just can't do it justice) Don't know about the game though, just the art. Other topics of discussion included favorite games, least liked games, child rearing, wench-watching, oldies but goodies (games), game clubs, and the state of the gaming industry in general. Never was heard a discouraging word; instead, lots of laughs. I think everyone had a good time; thanks to all who showed up. RGS
