Joseph Miranda - 10:56pm Dec 4, 2000 PST (#1842 of 1842) With Xenophon on the way, I thought I'd break out Charlemagne and get familiarized with the system. I actually did hit a couple of questions: 1. Can a player launch multiple Vassalage attempts against the same area in the same turn? Specifically, if the Empire player occupies the Burgs and Christianizes an area, his stratagems are definitely better spent one at a time rather than all at once. A: Yes. This is a legitimate move. 2. If a Treachery is played against a Vassalage, is the Vassalage still rolled for (on the 0 column) or is it as if it never happened? A: Technically, Treachery is implemented prior to the Vassalage attempt going into effect, negating the Vassalage marker (not its strength). If Treachery is played against Vassalage, then one marker is negated. If there are no surviving Vassalage markers, then the attack is negated. You have to have at least one Vassalage marker to make the attempt. (Good point, though.)
