Hi Alan, some Q&A I received on the Vae Victis Solferino game... Cheers, Markus Hi Markus, Here the answers. 1. When a unit retreats into a hex with another unit, is the other unit disrupted and the retreat extended into a second hex even if the other unit is an artillery unit (that could theoretically stack with the retreating unit)? No, as there is no overstacking. 2. Is it truly impossible for artillery to fire down a steep slope into the plains below? In the adjacent hex yes it is not possible, but otherwise it is possible. 3. Does a unit on the other side of a steep slope count as "adjacent" for purposes of rallying?  In particular if the rallying unit is on the mountaintop and the other unit down in the valley? (I'd assume no...) No. 4.  Does coordinating an assault count as "using the leader's rating in combat" even if it's not used to modify the combat dieroll?  I.e., does the leader have to roll for losses afterwards? Of course, Leaders at those times are on the front of the troops...
