From: "Rob Mull" Subject: Red Steel Q&A Submission Hi, I received the following Red Steel Q&A from Avalanche. Since it's from the developer I assume it's official. ---------------------------------- Rules: 3.32 Engineering phase. May all Soviet engineers conduct engineering operations during this phase, or must they wait to see if their division becomes activated? MAY ONLY CONDUCT ENGINEERING ACTIVITIES WHEN THEIR DIVISIONS ARE ACTIVATED. 4.0 Zones of Control. Tank, mech and cavalry units do not project a ZOC across an unbridged river hexside, is that correct? CORRECT. 5.2 Strategic Movement. Does "pass within two hexes of an enemy ground unit" mean one or two intervening hexes must be between the friendly and enemy unit? TWO. 7.2 German Supply and 7.4 Soviet Supply. If the German HQ or a Soviet formation HQ is eliminated, do all it's subordinate units remain unsupplied for the remainder of the game (with the exception of the one German unit that can be assigned to a Romanian formation per 23.3)? CORRECT. HOWEVER USE THE RULE FROM OTHER GAMES IN THE SYSTEM: ELIMINATED HQ'S REAPPEAR IN THE NEXT INITIAL PHASE STACKED WITH A UNIT OF THE DIVISION AND NOT ADJACENT TO AN ENEMY UNIT. 8.0 Bombardment. Can a unit be bombarded more than once in the same bombardment phase, say by two different air units or by air and artillery? NO. 12.2 Replacements. Do replacements accumulate if not used in the turn they are gained? YES. 15.2 Tank Maintenance. Do Soviet tank steps lost due to maintenance count for Axis victory points? YES. 25.5 Multiple Formations. Are units from one division attacking with unassigned units considered multiple formations? NO. Unit Symbols Chart (back of basic rulebook). On the top line there are two symbols for motorized infantry. Is the first one (with the tracked vehicle oval in it) supposed to be mechanized infantry and use the mech movement costs? NO. BOTH ARE MOTORIZED. BRIAN KNIPPLE
