In my opinion, having never seen this Q&A, you still roll for the ambush (4.65). If it occurs, roll for the ambush random event (4.652b), then do one full round of operations (which goes fast since there are no enemy units) (4.71-76), and roll for another random event at the end (4.77). > 4.
