I am sending you some errata for the game "Edelweiss" for the Winter
Storm series by Clash of Arms. This clears up a very significant terrain
issue that I found. The errata is from the designer John Schettler. Let
me know if you have any problems with it.

Yes... (Lowland woods was renamed "Lowland forest." It uses the TEC line
that was formerly occupied by Lowland Woods. As for "Highland Forest" it
is deleted from the TEC.

John,

Sorry to bother again. If you change "Highland Forest" to "Lowland
Forest" and delete the terrain "Lowland Woods", would the terrain
characteristics on the TEC for "Highland Forest" be the same as "Lowland
Woods" or the old "Highland Forest" with a change downward in elevation.

My guess would be to use the identical TEC characteristics of "Lowland
Woods" since most of the characteristics seem to be derived from the
elevation.

Thanks so very much,

Shannon

OK... I have looked this over and there is definitely a problem with how
the terrain is interpreted. Oddly, no one has asked me about it for over
10 years! In any case, to clear up the confusion it is necessary for me
to re-name "Highland Forest" to "Lowland Forest." There is no "Lowland
Woods" on the map because the forest symbol was used instead of the wood
symbol on that hex type. All the light green terrain that extends out as
far as Voroshilovsk is "Broken," and the woods, which always appear on
that color terrain hex, are all "Broken Woods."

Below is a scan I made of the map to indicate the terrain scheme with
this correction. I hope this clears things up. Feel free to pass this
graphic on to those interested.

Best Regards, John Schettler, Designer: "Edelweiss"
