Cuban Revolution Questions Several provinces include slivers of either shade of mountain terrain. Which of these are or are not considered mountain provinces? Are air and naval bombardments allowed into mountain provinces (do die mods apply?) What happens if the M-26-7 invades Camaguey? Are units allowed to delay their arrival? Bruce Yearian - Nov 24, 2005 7:12 am (#2916 Total: 2917) Visit us at www.khyberpassgamesonline.com Michael, As to the mountains and those 'little slivers' I assume you refer to provinces such as Mayari and Manzanillo. a. These should be treated as mountain areas. b. Camaguey is not an area of play that can be used by the either player. This is why the name is in gray and not white, it is just for reference. c. The -1 drm for Bastiano attacks into mountains applies even to air and navale units. d. As for delaying entry of units, it is not said but I guess you could as this is usually a standard 'wargame' rule in MANY games although I don't know why you would. As soon as the guerilla player controls 10 provinces, you have become demoralized as the Bastiano player and BAM!, a -1 drm for the rest of the game, very hard to win when that happens. This game can be won by either side by being decisive and sticking to a good plan. Once the Bastiano Player has been demoralized, it is pretty much a tough hill to climb and it requires the Guerilla Player making some mistakes and forgeting about the Bastiano naval and air assets as well as those pesky amphibious units they have. I had wrongly guessed that the predominate terrain was what mattered - that only Niquero, Cobre, Sagua de Tanamo, Yateras, and Baracoa were mountain. This interpretation obviously made it much harder for the Guerrillas. d. I figured, with the low basic movement rates, that the Batistanos might want to keep their two amphibious battalions off-map and ready to invade. They could wait for the ground units to reach a joint target, or they could threaten other coastal provinces (like Baracoa or Guantanamo) which the ground units couldn't reach. Or they could react to other situations.
