Rules Clarification For Close Assault What is an impulse? When a chit is drawn there are a number of things that can be accomplished. In the basic game, units that occupy two different hexes may expend movement points on actions. Each hex, regardless of whether it contains one or more counters, is used to complete a single impulse. For instance, a hex containing 3 counters may have each counter perform actions up to their full 4 movement point allowance. When all the actions of those 3 counters are complete that concludes the first impulse. Now, using a counter or counters from another hex, actions by those units may be performed. When they have completed all their actions another impulse is concluded and a new chit is drawn. Each impulse allows a player to conduct actions that use up to the maximum of four movement points for each unit counter in the hex. No unit that was used in one impulse may be used in the other. The actions from the second impulse would have to originate from a different hex and use different unit counters.
