1) ZOCs: do ZOCs exceed across rivers? If yes, across both, minor and major rivers? FOOT UNIT ZOC'S EXTEND ACROSS ALL RIVER HEXSIDES AND MOTORIZED/MECHANIZED DO NOT [SEE 4.0]. 2) Rule 11.7 states that "Engineers may build and destroy bridges and assist other units in crossing rivers and attacking fortifications". In the Sequence of Play, only rule 11.71 is stated ("The active player may build bridges (11.71)). Nothing about destroying bridges, nothing about effects on assisting attacks on fortifications. Can you please clarify? THE RULES WERE ORIGINALLY TO BE GENERAL AND COVER THE WHOLE SERIES OF GAMES. AMERICA TRIUMPHANT DOES NOT UTILIZE ENGINEERS IN COMBAT. IGNORE THE REFERENCE. 3) In my game, two counters were in, which I cannot see any use for: "CPx1" and "CPx10". Please clarify. THESE ARE THE GERMAN COMMAND POINT MARKERS. WE LATER CHANGED THE NAME TO SUPPLY POINTS AND DECIDED NOT TO USE A CHART. IGNORE THEM. 4) Which side's combat modifiers do apply first? Example: German attack on 16 Dec. Initial odds are 9:1, US unit defends in a village (-1) and in range of friendly HQ (-1), German HQ assistance (+2), Germans have tank superiority (+1), Germans have tanks and infantry stacked together (+1). Some games now say that the attacker must apply his modifiers first (13:1, modified to 10:1 (highest odds possible)), then defender applies (10:1 modified to 8:1). Thus the final odds would be 8:1. OR: simply apply all odds for both sides (-2 for the US, +4 for the Germans), thus coming to 11:1, which is the modified to 10:1 (highest possible odds). Please clarify!! ADD ALL MODIFIERS TOGETHER AND THEN APPLY TO THE ODDS COLUMN (IN THIS CASE +2 OR 10:1 AS THE HIGHEST ODDS). 5) The rules say that tank superiority of the attacker must be 5:1 to get a +1 modifier. What if the defender has no tanks, but the attacker has some. Is then 1:0 in tanks equal to 5:1? Or must it be 5:0 in tanks to get this modifier? IF NO DEFENDING TANKS ARE PRESENT, THE 5:1 MODIFIER IS NOT USED. 6) German Supply Points: Is it possibly to carry over not-used German Supply Points from turn to turn? I assume so, but the rules do not state so. YES. 7) Bridges: Rule 11.71 states that "No enemy units may be present in either hex adjoining the bridge". Example: US units are present in hexes 3009 and 3209, German engineers (and a full tank division) in hex 3108. Is the engineer unit allowed to build the bridge between hex 3108 and 3109? YES, ADJOINING MEANING EITHER END OF THE BRIDGE, NOT THE HEXES ADJACENT TO IT. And is the German tank division subsequently allowed to move from 3108 to 3109? YES, THE GERMAN TANK DIVISION MAY MOVE ACROSS THE BRIDGE JUST COMPLETED.
