Steve Carey - 09:05pm May 20, 1999 PST (#580 of 585) Glad to be here... Just a few VIMEIRO questions have come up: 1- I assume a leader only makes one casualty roll, regardless of how many hits the unit he is stacked with suffers. Section 6.4 doesn't really say, but 8.5.6 seems to indicate just a single roll. 2-Section 7.2 indicates a cost of 1MP to change formation. My confusion is for example at the start of a turn when a unit in Column (6 MP's) changes to Line (4 MP's)...so would the Line unit have 3 MP remaining after the change? 3-In the optional 7.6, it states the cost to change from Square to Line is 1MP...can a unit change directly from Square to Column? 4-Shock Results, 9.3, indicates the "player" decides which unit or units will take the cohesion hits...does this refer to the Initiative player or the Owning player? 5-Can units advance 9.4 (after shock) from one enemy ZOC to another (7.17 says a unit may never move from ZOC to another, but I was not sure if this applied to advance or not)? 6-Special Rules, 18.0 allows French placement within 3 hexes of the entry Area...does this mean just the map edge hexes? 7-Special Rules, 19.0 has the French starting the game with the Initiative, so they must play a card, and there is nothing the British can do, right? 8-Disrupted Units (12.1); can disrupted units still change formation and facing normally? I hope none of these are dumb questions (I might have missed a few things), but I was eager to play, and the rules are intuitive enough (with thankfully few of the dreaded 'exceptions' notations), I was able to dive right in and play. If anyone hasn't figured it out yet, I absolutely love this game! Enough gushing for one day (oh, I said that last night, too, didn't I?)... Richard Simon - 09:51am May 21, 1999 PST (#581 of 585) If Your Nose Runs and Your Feet Smell....................You're Built Upside Down! I'm not home and don't have my notes so this is (very) unofficial but: 1- I assume a leader only makes one casualty roll, regardless of how many hits the unit he is stacked with suffers. Section 6.4 doesn't really say, but 8.5.6 seems to indicate just a single roll. I believe that's correct 2-Section 7.2 indicates a cost of 1MP to change formation. My confusion is for example at the start of a turn when a unit in Column (6 MP's) changes to Line (4 MP's)...so would the Line unit have 3 MP remaining after the change? We prorated everything, so this sounds correct. We also only gave the units the MP bonus for being in column if they went into column at the beginning of their move. 3-In the optional 7.6, it states the cost to change from Square to Line is 1MP...can a unit change directly from Square to Column? I don't think so 6-Special Rules, 18.0 allows French placement within 3 hexes of the entry Area...does this mean just the map edge hexes? I asked the same question. Just along the map edge, I think 7-Special Rules, 19.0 has the French starting the game with the Initiative, so they must play a card, and there is nothing the British can do, right? We played it that, as the Initiative player, the French displayed his card first. The British does get a chance to grab the initiative by playing a higher card although I'm not sure there's that much of a benefit to it Rob Markham - 11:24am May 21, 1999 PST (#582 of 585) Steve, Richard was correct in his response on every one. Thanks Richard, it saved me a lot of typing. Rob
