From The Wargamer, v2, n2 [2.2] Game Board All references to the "Allied landing hexes," "Allied invasion hexes," and "Allied beaches" refer to the three hexes where Allied infantry divisions set up at the start of the game. The Combat Modifiers summary should include: -1 Defender in rough, bocage, or forest hex. Along the eastern map edge, only those hexes which contain hex numbers are playable. There is no rough terrain west of the Meuse river; the light brown areas in western France are cosmetic. [2.3] Playing Pieces The Allied Supply Income marker can be placed on the Allied supply track to record how many supply points the Allied player receives each turn. [5.2] Activating Divisions A player can activate as many stacks as he wants during an action, provided he pays the requisite supply point(s) for each. The action does not end automatically after the first activation - it ends when the acting player decides he doesn't want to activate any more stacks. [5.4] Combat If a stack contains two or three divisions, they can all be activated with a single supply point, even if they intend to attack different enemy stacks. (See 5.5 for the exception to this.) [5.5] Breakthrough Only one enemy stack can be attacked by a single stack of armor, even if the armor split up during movement. If two or three armor divisions were stacked together, they can split up to attack a single enemy stack from more than one direction. In order to attack more than one enemy stack with a single stack of armor during a Breakthrough action, the attacking armor divisions must be activated separately. [6.4] Strategic Movement Strategic movement is allowed within three movement points of enemy divisions. It is not allowed within two movement points of enemy divisions at any time during the move. [7.2] Combat Effects An adverse combat result has no effect on units which were not involved in that attack, even if they are stacked with attacking units, and even if they were activated simultaneously to attack a different hex. For example, if a stack of two British infantry divisions is activated during a Combat action and the Allied player announces that they are attacking two different German stacks, an AH result on the first attack has no effect on the second British unit; only the division which actually contributed its combat strength to this attack is depleted. Likewise, the combat strength of the division which did not attack is not counted when determining which stack contains the highest combat strength. This clarification applies only to the attacker, not the defender. [8.1] Supply Points A port symbol which does not contain a number does not contribute supply points to the Allied supply track. The following ports increase the Allied supply point income: Brest 1 Boulougne. 1 Cherbourg 2 Ghent 2 Le Havre 1 Antwerp 10 Rouen 1 [8.4] Supply Sources All captured ports plus the three Allied invasion hexes plus Area B (beginning turn 8) serve as Allied supply sources. Allied reinforcements and replacements can be brought in through any supply source (exception: only those reinforcements listed for Area B on the reinforcement schedule can be brought in through Area B ). An Allied unit can trace a supply line to any Allied supply source. The Southern France supply source cannot be captured. It can be sealed off with German ZOCs. [9.3] Paratroop Replacement An eliminated paratroop unit is not placed in the eliminated units box and it is not counted when determining replacement points. [10.2] German Reinforcements German reinforcements cannot be placed in hexes where they would be out of supply if not for the presence of other reinforcement divisions which were placed previously in the same turn--i.e., reinforcements cannot be used to create a supply path to otherwise inaccessible hexes, thereby allowing remaining reinforcements to be placed in those hexes. [11.4] German Replacements German replacements cannot be placed within two movement points of any Allied divisions or Allied supply sources. Their supply line cannot pass within two movement points of an Allied division. [13.3] Victory Points The Reinforcement Step is omitted on turn 20. No reinforcements or replacements are allowed.
