Am I correct in presuming that whenever a Corps level unit (not just an HQ) comes in as a reinforcement, both Corps AM's go into the pot? Yes, this is correct. 2. With regards to using roads without strategic movement: Can a unit that has been using a road and is about to enter a clear hex with another friendly unit veer off the road and just pay the 1 MP for clear? (remember, it's not using strategic movement) Sorry, the +1 MP applies, making the clear terrain hex more expensive than normal. Your moving unit has either hit a traffic jam, or has created one. The extra MP cost is what it takes to get out of it. The moral of the story is move the lead units, where possible, to clear the road for the follow-on units. 3. Does a unit that retreats within a ZOC but into a hex with another friendly unit still get reduced? Yes, the step loss is still there because it is retreating under enemy fire. The advantage to having a friendly unit present is that the retreating unit can retreat and survive to fight another day instead of having to stand, take the step loss in the hex it occupies, and probably face certain destruction the next time attacked. 4. TOT barrages--what is the +2 modifier referring to: observed, massed fire? The +2 DRM always applies to TOT fire missions. A case of developer over-familiarity with the system. The same applies to the Nebelwerfer +1 DRM. The TOT DRM is there because the American artillery was, quite simply, the best in the world at bringing down massed fires accurately on short notice.
