Subject: Hell Before Night clarifications From: rmt66@juno.com (ROBERT M TITRAN) Some clarifications regarding XTR's Hell Before Night, answers courtesy of Ted Raicer. >>> Q1. Rule 5.6 says that a unit is shattered "if the rout die roll result is more than four greater than the unit's current morale rating." However, the box in the lower left corner of the expanded turn sequence states that missing a roll by 1-3 is a rout, more than 4 is shattered - with no mention of what happens when you miss the roll by 4. Do we ignore the box and just follow 5.6 or is there something we're missing?<< A1. Follow 5.6. Q2. The CRT on the map says a r#/R# takes effect only if the opposing unit's morale is greater than the affected unit's morale plus the #. However, rule 10.10 says "greater than or equal to" the affected unit's morale. That "or equal to" is a significant difference - which way do we play it? A2. Greater than or equal to is correct. Q3. Rule 5.11 says that ES is created during the admin phase of each turn. The expanded turn sequence says it happens each couplet during the movement phase - no mention of it happening in the admin phase. Which is correct? Local opinion is that unless ES is created each couplet, the CSA won't stand a chance. A3. You can create extra strength through an officer any couplet. You can expend ES during any couplet and the Admin Phase. >>> Bob Titran rmt66@juno.com Last Played - Hannibal, Glory, Afrika
