From: Wiggler@cris.com (Gary Robinson) Subject: EastWall errata Here is some EastWall errata and Q&A: Eastwall: Battles for the Dnepr, September 1943 - February 1944 Consolidated Errata and Clarifications, as of August 18, 1997 Counters: The two German Security divisions should have a "S" instead of a "5" in their unit type boxes. The German 79 Inf. Division is incorrectly backprinted as the 74th. Soviet 49, and 23 Inf. Divisions are incorrectly backprinted. They should be an 11-4 not a 14-4. Map: The city in hex 1441 is Perekop Setup: The German 15th Luftwaffenfeld Division (LW) is a reinforcement for the October I turn. Rules: 5.1: It is the Soviet Reserve Commitment Segment (and not the German one) in the German Player Turn. The Expanded Sequence of Play (5.2) is correct. 8.1: The Rumanian Army counts as three units for stacking purposes. Q. Are the supply mapedges the 'long' or 'short' ones? It seems like the compass makes the short edges the supply sources, but the rail net and contested nature of short edges argues in favor of the long ones. A. The supply mapedges are the long ones. Q. Can a unit moves from 2543 to 2443 to 2343? The coast is drawn in a way that makes me think units are allowed to cross the water in 2443, and we just want to make sure this is intended. A. A unit cannot move 25543-2443-2343. Q. Does the Soviet place a bridgehead marker after advancing across the Dneiper after combat, or is one placed only when the special movement dieroll is made? Also, is the 'bridge' across a single hexside, or does it link all river hexsides surrounding the hex? A. A bridgehead is only placed when the special movement dieroll is made. A "bridge" is only across a single hexside. Q. The special Dneiper crossing attempt costs 25% of a movement allowance. Does the unit also have to pay cost-of-terrain in the hex across the river (we assume so)? A. A unit has to pay the cost of terrain in the hex across the river in addition to the Dnepr crossing costs.
