From: daveb@harlqn.co.uk (Dave Berry) Description: RoR optional house rules I haven't done the extensive collation of optional rules that I've done for interpetations and clarifications. Not yet, anyway. But here are a couple that seemed popular on the net last year. * Decide the temporary consulship randomly. * Senators lose popularity for dooing badly in a war. Lose 1 popularity per 2 legions lost (rounding up) in a disaster, 1 popularity per 3 legions lost (rounding up) in a standoff or stalemate, and 1 popularity per 3 legions lost (rounding down) in a victory. Loss of fleets has no effect. The Master Of Horse is unaffected. * A rebel may keep spoils of war from any war that he defeats, including wars defeated in the turn that he rebels. * A senator may veto any motion to disband veteran legions that are loyal to him. * The Gabinian Law may also be played in the Revolution phase of any turn in which a pirates war has been active. And here is one to ensure that the players get a chance in the Early Republic: * Ignore all Manpower Shortages (or No Recruitment!) on the first turn of the Early Republic.
