Notes for Peloponnesian War House Rules A battle in itself does not give control over an area. Resolve an immediate siege after the battle if necessary. Clarification: A new leader is selected for each mission. If the mission is aborted, for instance a rebellion, the leader is placed in the Going Home Box. Random Event 3: Oligarchic rebellion in Athens: Reroll if this event is to be ignored. Random Event 4: King Sitalces of Thrace changes side: This event is to be treated as a normal rebellion, but note the allegiance of King Sitalces, in case he switches side again. Defensive strategies: A rebellion is equal to an enemy force for determining whether a defensive strategy becomes active or not. Spartan strategies: If the Athenians have 7 or more naval units at Piraeus, no Spartan fleet will attempt to move within 2 hexes of Piraeus. Choose another route or exchange the naval units for hoplites. Rebellions (change): The player side can cause a rebellion on a die roll of 5-6. Rebellions: It can be decided not to send a force to a rebellion after it has occurred, in which case that side is considered to have passed. Armistice determination: Treasury levels are determined before income, and the level for the Athenians is 2000 when the Athenian Emergency Fund is in effect. Armistice determination: If the enemy has hostages, this is regarded as an armistice condition just like treasury levels or bellicosity levels. Armistice (clarification): Add to effects: Advance Game Turn Marker the number of spaces that the armistice lasts. No side can have more than 4 operations per turn. Auguries die roll (change): The player side (or both players in case of 2-player games) passes on a die roll of 5-6, just like the non-player side. Small victories: If the winner of a battle has 6 or more SP's and the loser has 1 or 2 SP's, there are no SCI effects of that battle. Map (change): Argos is a fortress space. Map (change): There is a naval LOC from Cythera to Melos. Rhegium is an Athenian ally with 1 allied SP in all scenarios. Naupactus can be used for north/south LOC calculations if Naupactus is not controlled by an enemy naval force. Add 1 to Side Determination die roll for each 10 non-player spaces currently in rebellion. Syracuse is activated when any space in Sicily is attacked.
