The first round will have five (5) tables with one (1) player advancing from each table to the finals*. The first round will last 4 hours. The final will commence at a time agreed to by the players in the final and the referee, but not later the 1 hour after the end of the first round. To speed up the first round, Ireland, the Irish heir, the Lieutant and all cards dealing with Ireland will not be used. Ireland may not be used for refuge during the first round. If time runs out in the first round, the winner will be determined by the rules in the convention program, 1) Sole King 2) most parliament vote noth houses 3) most votes Commons. The final will continue until the winner is determined by the original rules. All optional and advanced rules from the current official rule book (except advances battle) will be used. The variant Crown and event cards from both articles in the General may be used in the first round by agreement of the players in each first round game. They will be used in the final. The two-turn siege rule will be used. A siege is declared during the combat phase of the attacking factions turn and is resolved by drawing a card during the combat phase of that factions next turn, bad weather delays the attach yet another turn. Any part of a besieged force may sally to fight the besieging force in normal combat. If the result of the combat reduces the besieging force to below the amount necessary to continue the siege against any forces left inside then the siege is broken, otherwise the siege continues. If the force attempting to raise the siege has worse then 1 to 4 odds use the ambush rules. If the result of the combat is indecisive the attacking force may not rejoin any forces still under siege. The variant ship combat or blockade rules will not be used. If one of the special Plantegenet warlord nobles dies in combat and the resurrection roll fails, the warlord does not return to the game until the top heir of that family either dies or changes hands. All deaths will be decided by the roll of the dice not card draws, except the result of the variant assassination card; it is determined by a card draw as stated in the General article. All decisions of the referee are final.
