As part of the docs I promised, this is an email of revised submarine rule with rules for PT Boats added in. Everything is from notes I took from a friend's issue of General. American PT Boats 1) Two PT boats per factor 2) They are treated like aircraft with a speed of 2 and a RF of 12. 3) Counter values: Gunnery - 0 Flak - 1 Torps Ammo - 1 Damage - 1 VPs - 4 4) After an attack the PTs must return to base and rearm using this rearming rule. A PT may take six hours to refuel and rearm or take three hours and only refuel. 5) After each PT factor's rearming, the American player rolls a D6. On a result of one thru four the PT operates normally. A result of five or six indicates a problem with the boat and the process must begin all over again. 6) PTs are immune to minefields and torpedoes. 7) If a PT is attacked by an aircraft, the aircrafts BHT receives a -2 on the attack. 8) PT Attack table (D6) Result Action 1 The TF may attack the PT, but the PT may not fire back. 2 The TF may attack first and then the PT may return fire. 3 The attack is resolved normally. 4 The PT may attack first and then the TF may return fire. 5, 6 The PT may attack, but the TF can not return fire. Modifiers to the results above. +1 if at night. +1 if in a storm. +1 if TF is in a mine field +2 if TF is anchored -1 if enemy air formation is in the hex. 9) BHT is 7 for the PT and 11 for the TF if the TF attacks first 10) BHT is 11 for the PT and 9 for the TF if the PT attacks first. 11) At night subtract three from these BHTs. Submarine Rules. 1) Submarine Types. USN SST S-Boats SS Gato Class SSM Nautilus and Argonaut IJN SST RO Class SS I Class SSM I Class Minelayers and Seaplane Launching subs. 2) Sub Attack table (D6) Result Action 1 The TF may attack the sub, but the sub may not fire back. 2, 3 The attack is resolved normally. 4, 5 The sub may attack first and then the TF may return fire. 6 The sub may attack, but the TF can not return fire. Modifiers to the results above. +1 if at night. +1 if in a storm. +1 if TF is in a mine field +2 if TF is anchored -1 if sub is an SSM or SST -1 if there is an enemy air formation in the hex. -1 If the TF has been attacked by a sub in the last 12 hours.
