Hi Stefan The only one in my collection (this not being my period) is A Famous Victory by Moments in History. 1994 Ulrich Blennemann / Richard Berg. Not sure of the availability - CriticalHit website seems to be out of order. I think it is OOP, but should be available somewhere. Original price $39 Medium complexity - is after all based on a Berg system :-) One of two battles (Other being Ramillies) each on a 22x33 Map side (box is wrong). Map is rather plain. Scale 175 yds per hex. 720 counters (don't ask me how many for each battle as it's unpunched/unread) Counters are colourful enough - different backgrounds for each of the 11 nations Troops represented by a single soldier/cavalry in period uniform simply coloured differently. Each with ID and three ratings. Leaders represented simply by named spear/standard symbol for Line & Wing Cmdr, each with 4 ratings. Artillery is represented by size and 2 ratings. Several markers - Command points, counter charge, leader initiative, reduced, rout status, standing assault. Scale - Infantry battalion, Cavalry regiment 4 simple letter Player aids - 1 for each side plus two common. cover, 19.5 Pages of Rules, 6.5 pages for two battles, 0.5 pages Bibliography, 3 pages Historical Background. 1 Side basic Sequence of Play. Each scenario for 1-4 players. Half hour turns. Approx historical setup details given (but not to exact hexes) or 'Free' Setup - setting up in six to nine lines in a limited area. A couple of optional rules (French command, Balance) some specific rules - destroyed bridges, burning down villages. Four victory levels - automatic geographic control, and break levels for each side. Playing time given as four to seven hours. Rick Swan had a review in Zone of control #3 ".. A Famous Victory is a masterful examination of an overlooked era, supported by shrewd rules and incisive historical analysis. Look : Excellent. Utility : Excellent. Rules : Good. Game : Good. Simulation : Excellent Innovation : Good." Whereas I think that the look was even for then simply so good I can't comment on the rest ! Grognards has : variant, optional setup, counter manifest, Charge Reaction Table (Word file), 1 page official errata (PDF file), quick setup (PDF file) A second game is available in the same series - Fields of Glory : Oudenarde & Malplaquet. 1996. 840 Counters. Map is much better - approaching Clash of Arms la Battaille series - from Rick Barber. Time 4 to 10 hours. Adds optional fatique rule. This time one side in each battle has fixed statring positions - down to the hex position. Half page errata text available on Grognards. Hope this helps ! If you have any more information about the games beside the title(s), I would be pleased to hear your comments. Thanks, Stefan
