Conflict Games. Brainchild of John Hill of Squad Leader and Johnny Reb fame. Playtested by yours truely plus many others. There were two versions. The 1974 version was produced when Conflict Games was still owned by John. This version is infamous for a bright orange map with seperate egyptian and syrian fronts along with lots of "close to the map edge" fighting. A fun game that is well balanced with lots of back and forth action but flawed as a historical game. In a typical Hill fashion it captures the flavor of the war (will the Israelis be pushed out of the middle east) instead of the actual numbers of the war (the X division had so many tanks and so many men). The late 1970s version was produced after Conflict Games was purchased by GDW. This version was dramatically re-done and is probably more historical but much less fun. Command control plays a large part in this game and the Egyptians are greatly limited in their movement. As I recall, all the Israelis had to do was step out of the Egyptian's path and wait until the Israelis were strong enough to crush Egypt. > As I recall it involved both air and land units. Yes. Combined warfare.
