From: "Stephen David Thomas" Subject: Africa - Wargamer #3 +The last grognards challenge was Africa from the Wargamer +ACM-3 - I +anyone give a quick synopsis and review of the game for me. +Gratefully, +Brad There are up to 5 major powers and 15 African countries. Map of Africa is basically A4 size ie very small, plus some charts. The rules are 2 pages long and there are 154 counters. Bear in mind this game was produced in about 1977 so quite a lot has changed in Africa+ACE- The players represent the major powers USA, USSR etc (how many depends on the number of players). To quote from the rules+ADs- Each player takes the role of one of the powers attempting to establish or maintain a sphere of influence in southern Africa. By interfering in the economic stability and political alliances of nations and subsidising them, the players attempt to to extend their political control of Africa+ACI- There are rules for generating income, internal stability of African nations, leaders, intervention forces, political influence, random events, expenditure on armed forces, combat, supply, revolutions. It is very basic. It's many years since I played it and so I can't really comment on it as a game. Hope that is some help Steve Thomas
