Norbert Moehring - 11:47pm Aug 4, 2003 PST (#2947 of 2975) www.g-h-s.org Roy and Luc, thanks a lot for your help. After playing Ardennes 44 yesterday I need some clarifications – perhaps you could help again: a) I assume that also armored units can attack across a bridge (at half strength of course). Correct? b) Is there any difference between “normal” rivers and the Maas/Meuse river (e.g. crossing at every hex for infantry units)? c) There are one +2 column Arty marker for each US Army. Do you draw randomly the support markers or may you choose them for the set-up and the reinforcement markers? d) I’m irritated about the lonely breakthrough marker. The marker stays until the end of the Operation Phase (see 7.8 last sentence). But I assume the players could generate more than one breakthrough result in the Operation Phase thus you need more than one marker. Do I miss something? e) It is really correct that even an isolated and OOC German unit, which crosses the Meuse river and survives, gives the German player an offensive victory? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- lucolivier - 01:57am Aug 5, 2003 PST (#2948 of 2975) Grand Maitre de l'Academie du Wargame Hi Norbert, I don't have the rules with me but I can give a quick answer. a) yes. b) No differences. c) at the beginning you get the +1, the +2 arrive with reinforcement (heavy artillery). d) Yes you can have more than one breakthrough, I will complain to the VV editor... You can use those from Golan if you have the game. e) No the unit need to be in command and in supply. But only one is necessary. The purpose was to create a game winnable by the Germans.
