Alan, Here's the official errata for S&T 227 CBI, from Joe Miranda/DG. I still have a few questions, but this handles most of the issues. Paul --------------------------------------------------------------------------- CBI Errata attached. JM Vinegar Joe's War/CBI Errata 27 March 2005 Counters: British 1/CD special operations brigade is a light unit. Japanese 15 armored brigade should be designated "B/3". Japanese 56 infantry division should have a reinforcement code of "2" (not "4"). Air Attack Table and 12.9 (Correction): The "DR + Reduce" results on the Air Attack Table should be "DR + Interdicted". Roll another die and on a result of 4-6 place an Interdicted marker on the attacked unit or hex. Terrain Effects Chart Unfinished railroads are treated as roads for movement. General: Siam and Thailand are the same country. Rules 2.37 Nationalities (correction) British = tan; Chinese = blue; United States = green; Japanese = yellow. 2.33 Unit types explanation (omission): Guerilla units are those with the red stripe and the star in the unit type box. [4.1] Sequence of Play (omission): The second sentence of (1.8) and (2.8) should read "Both players apply close support air and naval gunfire support missions." 9.7 Airbase Movement (clarification): If an airbase unit is moved during a Movement Phase it can not receive (i.e., be a base for landing) a ground unit air transported by a MAC in the corresponding air operations phase. 12.2 Air Missions (clarification): The Air Superiority mission is a general reference for all phasing TAC units on any offensive air missions which can fire at non-phasing air units in the same hex. For example, the attacker can put up to 6 air units into a hex. 3 fly close support (the maximum for close support missions in a hex), and the other three 3 are flying escort. The defender could put up a maximum of 4 (three Air Superiority plus 1 Close Air Support). So you would have 6 attacking TAC shooting it out with 4 defending TAC. 12.9 Air Attack Table Results (clarification): The "DR" result on the Air Attack Table means only roll a die to see if the result is implemented (which should be "Interdicted, not "reduced"). It does not mean "Defender Routed." Interdiction removal (omission): Interdicted markers are removed from non-port hexes by having at least one friendly depot in the hex during the friendly administration phase. The depot is not expended in this case. 13.8 Choice of CRTs (clarification): The explanation adjacent to the on-map CRTs is correct. The Allies can use the Infiltration CRT if in command and there is one or more special operations units, while the Japanese can use the Mobile CRT if in command and there is one or more armor units. 18.4 Amphibious Reinforcements (clarification): reinforcements landing via amphibious movement do not have to begin or end their move in a port. They may be landed on any coastal or port hex. 18.72 Amphibious Operations (clarification): the parenthesized section should read: "…and may be used again in subsequent phases." An Amphibious unit may always be used in both friendly phases. 26.4 Victory Points Chart: (clarification): Units which are permanently eliminated via the replacement die roll [16.1(3)] also count for victory points. (correction): Allies receive VPs for Japanese (not Allied) Contingency Reinforcements. (correction): Ignore the reference to "Bhamo"—it is not on the map. Scenario 1 Allied initial deployment: 1.3(1): Allied units may set up on or adjacent to Singapore. 1.3(3): Allied units set up in Burma must be set up on cities or towns. Japanese Shock Effect (clarification): Although Siam is considered a Japanese client, on the first turn, Japanese reinforcements cannot appear in Bangkok until turn 2. EOF
