Ty Bomba - 10:30am Feb 3, 2002 PST (#182 of 200) "Let's make us medicine of our great revenge, to cure this deadly grief." - William "Bud" Shakespeare Christopher: The first two questions you posted up above deal with Joseph's portion of the rules; so I'll tip him you're asking and you can then get the most authoritative answer possible from him. Here are the answers to the two questions dealing with my end of things. Q. Am I right in understanding that the Euro Corp unit is a "minor power" unit per rule section 1.3, and thus has an attack rating of '1' when the move/fight sequence is chosen? A Yes and yes. Q. Also, can the MEF exert a ZOC across lake, sea and resovoir hexsides? They can attack, but the rules don't address their ZOC status. A. Good catch! The answer is yes. Joseph Miranda - 08:41pm Feb 3, 2002 PST (#192 of 200) Ty & Joe, thanks for putting B2I3 together for us - timely and informative. You are welcome. 1. Do HQs count against stacking? They aren't excluded under 6.4, and AG 4.0 et.seq. doesn't mention whether they count or not, so I expect they do count against the 3 unit limit. If so, that'll alter my set-up plans for both sides. Yes, they count for stacking. 2. AG 5.5, additional airmobile capacity, seems to contradict itself. In the 1st paragraph, it says the extra airmobile move "is done by picking the unit up and placing it on any other hex on the map." In the 2nd paragraph of the rule, it says " ... it is then moved up to 10 hexes over any terrain ... ." Which one ought to control? 10 hexes. Another reason why one should never change things at the last moment… How do you all feel about letting Al-Qaeda SOF units move into and out of Iran during scenario one? I know it's against the RAW, but it seems more than likely that Al-Qaeda would ignore Iranian protests, and the Coalition forces would risk esclation if they pursued into Iran (something I'd think Al-Qaeda leaders would welcome and encourage). This is up to the gamer: take a look at what is going on in the media and bend the rules accordingly. We were open ended on several items in the design. By the way, anyone know what is the real designation of the elite Al-Qaeda brigade? “55”, “505”, “055”, I’ve seen all used. 1. When a SOF mission ends in failure (DR 1 or 2 on the SOF Mission Table), is the SOF unit permanently eliminated? Yes. 2. When a Coalition SOF unit is attacked by MI units and a DL1 result is obtained, is the SOF unit permanently eliminated? Yes. 3. When an MI SOF unit is attacked by the Coalition and a DE result is obtained, is the MI SOF unit permanently eliminated? Yes No chance for "neutralization" (AG 3.7(2)) in any of these situations, huh? No…remember, in the time span of the game, an elimination might mean a situation like Somalia wherein SOF simply cease missions while they figure out what to do next. I gave SOF more flexibility to retreat into EZOC as they are covert forces. Is it correct that during reconstitution turns, the Coalition may not launch air missions or SOF missions? I assume those units are resupplying, etc., just like the regular ground forces. Yes.
