Hi Alan, see included. Markus Stephen Newberg - 05:55am Jan 3, 2002 PST (#58 of 58) Simulations Canada, Ltd. OK, here goes: THE SANDS OF WAR, Errata, 1 February 1992 COUNTER ERRATA All of the brown heavy weapons should have their cargo value reversed out of the black dot. All of the brown jeeps should have their cargo values shown in a white dot. The values on the reverse sides of the helicopters in the original game are incorrect The brown BTR-152U should have a special function code of S, not R. The SA-9 and SA-13 counters should not have two numbers in the missile range position. The man-carried TWO launcher should not have an armoured defense value. MOVEMENT AND VISIBILITY CHART Rubble is not a sub-set of Vegetation; it is a separate terrain type represented by a counter. SCEANRIOS Makfar Al Busayyah: The references to an M42 82mm mortar (in the Iraqi 1st Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 26th Infantry Division and in the 26th Special Forces Battalion) should be changed to read MdMtr. Ambush at Mitla Pas: The scenario calls for three elite infantry counters with a recon special function code, but none are provided with the game. Use the regular elite infantry coutners and treat them as if they have a recon special function code. Khorramshar: Delete the flamethrower from the Iraqi forces for the scenario. Only the Iranian player has a flamethrower. The Iranian player should have 20 salvoes of HE for his medium mortars, not 10. encounter on the Ismailia Road: The Jump-Start folder lists this scenario as using Map 16 while the rules book lists Map 12. Neither of these are correct. The scenario is fought on Map 6. POINTS VALUES (PP74-75) The point value for troop units should be as follows: Unit Cost Militia Inf 1/2 Lt Inf 1 Reg Inf 2 Elite Inf 4 Engineer 4 Msl Team 2 Patrol 1 Cmndr 2/3 MMG 3 FO 12 The point cost for the SA-7A should be 3, not 1. VISIBILITY AND SPOTTING The rules state that open high towns are not an obstruction. While this rule works, a more accurate rule is the following: Open High Towns Open high towns are not an obstruction when tracing LOS straight along a hex row, provided the LOS is also traced directly along a road. The first non-road open high town hex bolocks LOS, once the LOS has been traced through at least one road open high town hex. If not tracing along a straight road, the LOS can be traced through on open high town hex, the second open high town hex, however, blocks LOS.
