Elias Nordling - Nov 25, 2007 8:21 am (#243 Total: 252) "Elias is God's gift to developers/designers . . . exactly which god we're not sure." RHB Prussia Rising rules questions 1) The rules say: A unit that suffer a hit is reduced and may still remain in play, but they lose a level of training for the rest of the combat. The last word has me confused. Does this mean a unit that has only taken one hit recovers fully after combat, or do the hit stay with it, so that it has its experience level reduced? I assume the latter, but the rules seem to hint at the former. 2) The rules say: if a stack retreat inside a fortress, the other player may declare a siege; the same it is true if this retreat happens before the start of a combat. How do you retreat before combat into a fortress? I can find no rule for this. Roberto Chiavini - Nov 26, 2007 10:21 am (#244 Total: 252) Elias, My rules phrasing for this game seems definitely bad and I've left several things unexplained. I have to find the time in the near future to revise it completely, as it needs a rewrite. I know it, but time is not on my side in this period, alas. Anyway, let's try to explain the points that are unclear: 1) Hits taken are removed at the end of each combat: there are no permanent losses if a unit is not eliminated during a single combat (several rounds). 2) The rule is miswritten, as it makes a reference to a rule that was eliminated during playtesting. As it stands, no retreat before combat is possible (only after at least a round of combat). Thanks Roberto
