John Slotwinski - Jan 20, 2007 8:15 am (#961 Total: 964) Consims: More fun than humans should be allowed A few questions... >There are enough Latin ASPs for the Third Crusade, which is the really important use of them. So just to make sure I understand, since there are 6 Latin ASP counters (12 factors worth) the correct way to mark the map would be to put 5 counters (9ASPs) worth of Latins with Conrad, and then place one Latin control marker (to represent the inherent 1 ASP) in the 3 castle spaces that starts with 1 Latin ASP? I've checked the RB and discussion board, and have a few other lingering questions: (1) 2C Rules Changes section says "(9.0) The wealth rules are not used." Rules section 9 is the naval rules. Also, I couldn't find "wealth rules" anywhere. Is this really the section 10 resources rules? Does this mean that resources aren't used at all? (2) 3C (historical) setup, Acre Sea Zone, the listed factors don't quite jive with the counter mix, (e.g., lists 2 fleets (4 NSP) worth of Pisan, while there is only 1 (2NSP) in the mix, but there are 2 fleets of Danes while the scenario lists one, etc. ) although the total number of factors is the same, so I guess it doesn't matter too much. (3) 3C (historical) The Saracen leader Taki has an activation rating of 2 on his counter, but I could only find 1 AM marker in the mix, unless I'm missing it somewhere... (4) 3C (historical) I could only find 3 generic Fleet AM markers, shouldn't each side (Muslim, Franks) have their own Fleet markers, or do the Egyptian fleets not activate? (5) 3C (historical) Are the two Bohemonds supposed to have AM markers? These are probably inane questions. Thanks in advance for your help. Looking forward to playing this one. Let me think about this. We might need some Latin 1-ASP counters. The castle spaces have 1 ASP in addition to the intrinsic garrison. If you need some, use Southern Frank ASPs. >I've checked the RB and discussion board, and have a few other lingering questions: >(1) 2C Rules Changes section says "(9.0) The wealth rules are not used." Rules section 9 is the naval rules. Also, I couldn't find "wealth rules" anywhere. Is this really the section 10 resources rules? Does this mean that resources aren't used at all? Yes and yes. "Wealth rules" is a holdover from an older draft version. But in any case, they're not used - for ANY purpose. Correct on both counts - the designations are switched around, and it doesn't matter anyway. Again, would be nice if they weren't switched, but no effect on the game. I'll fix in the Living Rules. >(3) 3C (historical) The Saracen leader Taki has an activation rating of 2 on his counter, but I could only find 1 AM marker in the mix, unless I'm missing it somewhere... Hmmm ... I'll check on this. Either the rating is wrong or there should be another AM for him - my guess is the latter, but I have to check the countermix. >(4) 3C (historical) I could only find 3 generic Fleet AM markers, shouldn't each side (Muslim, Franks) have their own Fleet markers, or do the Egyptian fleets not activate? Yeah, there was a Fleet AM mixup. The next C3i will have two Egyptian fleet AMs (and before anyone asks, I don't know GMT's policy on distributing these to non-subscribers to C3i, but they seem pretty good about it). There will also be the two Saracen Reinforcement AMs. It's easy enough to fix for now - use any unused 2C leader AMs to be the Saracen Reinforcement AMs for the 3C scenarios, and any other two unused 2C Leader AMs to be the Egyptian Fleet AMs. Baldwin and Nur ed-Din work fine for this. >(5) 3C (historical) Are the two Bohemonds supposed to have AM markers? No - they're controlled by the Neutrals marker if they come into the game. >These are probably inane questions. Not at all. I guessed wrong - Taki's ratings should be [1]-2, not [2]-3. I was wondering about this after answering above, since I don't remember anyone actually activating the poor guy during playtesting. A leader with a rating of [2]-3 would have been considered actually useful.
