Ken McGovern - 07:21pm May 13, 2001 PST (#518 of 522) When a problem comes along, you must whippet. Copies of Kriegsmarine that Clash of Arms is selling also contain the IJN counters and a photocopy of the IJN scenarios. Not a bad deal for $10(or less). Sounds like quite the deal. Buy. There were a few minor rules that were unique to the IJN rules book, mainly dealing with torpedos and night training, if I remember right. If I get a chance I will dig them out and post them, but they were nothing to really worry about if you are getting the counter set and scenarios at no cost. pax, smn Stephen Newberg - 04:16am May 15, 2001 PST (#521 of 522) Simulations Canada Ltd. OK, rules specific to IJN that you need to know that I can find on first sweep: 9.5.1 Vessels carry a limited number of torpedos. A japanese vessel may, during an entire scenario, launch torpedos numbering two times its salvo total. That is, if the vessel's salvo is 4, it may launch 8 torpedos. All other nations vessels may launch torpedos numbering up to the vessel's salvo total. Such a vessel with a salvo of 6 may launch up to 6 torpedos. 9.5.2 After having launched its entire salvo total for the first time, a Japanese vessel may not launch a torpedo again for one full turn. At the conclusion of that turn a single torpedo may be launched. After two turns, two torpedos may be launched, etc, up to the number of turns required to reload the entire salvo at a turn per torpedo. I thought there was something about altering the results of the Night Effects table for the Japanese, but do not see it. You might want to give them an advantage of 1 on the die roll on that table. Could be the rule was abandoned in the final version or I am just missing it. It was a long time ago and I cannot remember what we did. pax, smn Stephen Newberg - 04:21am May 15, 2001 PST (#522 of 522) Simulations Canada Ltd. Just found a bit of errata for the IJN scenarios also, and do not know if it is in the stuff that COA is sending out so: "The Cape Esperance scenario took place on 11 October rather than 11 September and the US forces all start in NE, 10, E, rather than SW, 10 H." "The counter for Furutaka #4 has the gun strength and torpedo salvo numbers reversed." pax, smn
