Andy Parsons - Feb 1, 2009 7:02 am (#395 Total: 400) Roberto I have a few questrions on Gliders from the Skies - I have just made up and cut out all the counters and am ready for my first game! Reaction Fire A Belgian unit enters an area with two unsuppressed/ not routed German units that have no MPs left. Do the German units fire individually or as a combined attack (assuming one/both pass their Morale check) at the Belgian unit? Assume a second Belgian unit enters the same area area in the same Belgian Movement Phase - can the German units fire Reaction Fire at them as well? Putting these questions another way: Does each unit fire reaction fire individually - or do all eligible units combine fire - or is it the player's choice? Can a unit be subject to reaction fire more than once when it enters an area? Can the Germans fire even though they have no MPs left? Can a unit fire Reaction fire an unlmited number of times i.e. once at each enemy unit that enters its areas? Assault Do the units supporting an Assault Attack also have to have 4MPs available? Do all eligible units (i.e. unsuppressed/unrouted) on both sides HAVE to take part in the Assault? Surrender I assume that a Surrendered unit is just removed from the map as if it had been Eliminated? Alert Table I assume the you have to roll the number or higher? Many thanks Andy Roberto Chiavini - Feb 2, 2009 9:08 am (#396 Total: 400) Andy, It seems that your Belgian are very active... Reaction Fire 1) They may fire individually or cumulate factors, as in Fire combat. Remember to check for activation of reaction fire for each unit doing so. 2) Yes, if a unit moves more than one area in the same turn. 3) Yes, it is a reaction fire after all. 4) No, only once in a turn as in the case of normal fire. Belgian reaction fire is for the first German unit entering a zone. Assault 1) No, the only requirement is not having fire before. 2) No, it's optional for both parts. Surrender and Alert, your interpretation is right Thanks Andy Parsons - Feb 2, 2009 9:17 am (#397 Total: 400) Roberto Many thanks. To answer 4): I have two Belgian units in an area. One German units moves into the area. Do both Belgian units HAVE to try for Reaction Fire? Say they both try but one fails its morale check - can it try again when a second German units moves in? Regards Andy Andy Parsons - Feb 2, 2009 1:08 pm (#398 Total: 400) Hmm.. Have I missed something? Playing my first game with medium reaction Level. As at start of Turn 3 all of the batteries have been destroyed and the paratroopers are queued up in a circle around area E waiting for the Belgians to arrive? Given that each glider lands in a different battery area and that the battery is destoyed on anything but a "1" - I can't see how the batteries get into action short of the player rolling a lot of "1"'s for Battery destruction? Regards Andy Kim Meints - Feb 2, 2009 7:30 pm (#399 Total: 400) If we beat him 99 times he will be still our King and we his subjects. If he beats us just once we are all hanged! (Earl of Manchester at 2nd Newbury) Andy I did a House Rule where the Battery is destroyed the turn of landing on a roll of 4-6.Second turn 3-6 and every turn after that 2-6. It let the Belgians have a little more chance.I suspect surviving on a 1 right now is the more historical showing for the batteries.I need to read up on the fighting there again. Roberto Chiavini - Feb 4, 2009 11:00 am (#400 Total: 400) Kim, Your house rule could be ok, if you think that winning is too easy (it was so, really).
