Bill Ramsay - 06:41am Nov 27, 2002 PST (#4668 of 4872) Working on Borodino: Triumph & Glory WWII: Barbarossa to Berlin Living Rules Errata and Clarifications November 26, 2002 Recent Changes Map Treat Penza as a Forest space. Cards The Maquis card should read "Partisan markers may be placed in France, Norway, Sweden and Italy (after Italy Defects). May immediately play one Partisan Marker." Both Panzergruppe Guderian and Patton allow a second attack. A first attack must have been made by 2nd Panzer Armee or 3rd Army (respectively) in order for that unit to make the second attack. OOS Panzers may not take replacements using the Panzer Refit card. Bagration - add after "Axis No Retreat options this round": "against Soviet attacks." Herkules - may not be played if the Allies control Algiers or Benghazi. Actual occupation of these spaces is not required. Axis Card #2 Von Paulus Pause Change to read: Axis player places four Combat markers in any Axis occupied spaces (including multi-nationality spaces). Cancel Soviet Trench No Retreat effects this round. Axis must take two consecutive 1 OPS Rounds before Round 5 of turn 2. No combat vs. Soviet units is allowed during these rounds. Cancels Winter 42 Effects. Allied Card #7 Industrial Evacuation Add: May be played as a Yellow Box Event on turns 2 or 3 if Stalin is in Moscow. If played in this manner, Stalin may not leave Moscow before Turn 6. Rules 5.2 Soviet Union, Egypt and Iraq [addendum] If the Herkules Event has been played, for the rest of the game count Tobruk for the purpose of this rule. 7.63 Invasion Procedure [clarification] Once the Allied player has decided to use any further Invasion cards as Reinforcements, the use of any card containing both British and US is considered to be the one reinforcement action for both nationalities for that turn. 8.3 Requirements of a Mandated Offensive [clarification] If there are no valid spaces to occupy or attack when a Mandated Offensive is rolled, the Mandated Offensive is ignored for that turn (treat as as result of "None" on the Orders table). 11.42 Ignoring Retreats. [addendum] Antwerp, if Allied Controlled and opened (Clearing the Scheldt has been played) is considered to be No Retreat terrain. 12.1 Strategic Redeployment General Rules [addendum] Add new last sentence: Exception: It takes only 1 SR Point to SR the US 7th or British 8th Armies to the Reserve Box (see 12.4). 13.1 Supply General Rules [deletion] Remove the earlier errata. Treat 13.1 as originally written; i.e. supply for the active player is determined for both movement and combat when the Move/Combat markers are placed. 13.41 Out of Supply - General Rules [addendum] Add after the fourth sentence: "The full cost to activate the space must be paid, or no units in the space may be activated." 19.6 Yugoslavia [addendum] Add "After Tito has been played, any Allied-controlled space in Yugoslavia that does not contain an Allied unit does not convert to Axis control during the Attrition Segment for being OOS (exception to 13.5)." Optional Rules Design Note: The following rules are optional and are intended to help balance the game-use as desired. They are grouped under pro-Allied and pro-Axis headings. Note that players who want a more “historical” match at the cost of some additional rules dirt should consider using them all. Pro-Allied 4.4 (Addition) If the Allied player does not draw cards #2 or #24 in his initial hand, and after discarding all remaining cards of his initial hand fails to draw either card, he may discard any 3 Ops or better card and draw card #24 in its place. (It is suggested players simply note this, rather than searching through the deck.) 7.8 (Addition) Before the Allied player shuffles his discarded and undrawn Blitzkrieg cards in with his Total War cards, he may chose any one of those Blitzkrieg cards to include in his initial Total War hand. 13.1 (Addition) Axis units may trace supply only for Attrition through Vologda (excluding units in Vologda). Axis units tracing supply through Vologda are considered OOS for all other purposes. 13.2 (Addition) Axis units may never move into or attack Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk. Pro-Axis 7.62 (Addition) Only one of Allied Events #2 and #24 may be played in 1941. 7.63 (Addition) Regardless of when US Buildup is played, there may be no Allied invasions before Summer 42. 13.3 (Change) Unless in full supply, the Panzerarmee Afrika LCU always adds one to the Activation cost of a space. Exception: If the Axis player is tracing supply through Tripoli to Syracuse this cost is ignored in any space in Libya (only) within 6 spaces of Tripoli (counting the space the PAA is in, but not Tripoli itself). This range may be extended by 2 spaces in Libya and Egypt (as far as Buq Buq) if the Axis controls Tobruk in Limited Supply through Tripoli. If the Axis trace Limited Supply through Alexandria (via Crete and Athens) this cost is ignored in any space within 6 spaces of Alexandria.
