Additional summons have a penalty described in Section 7.5.2. **Turn 3 Reinforcements** (change): May enter in any Steppe area, I to IV. **Soviet Control of Step Area** (clairification): Control and resulting German losses as per Section 5.4.7 is determined at the END of the German Command Phase. **German Set-Up** (clairification): The 24th Panzer division starts as two full strength battle-groups. Place the 24th Pz division counter in Holding Box F at full strength (11). 71st Infantry division starts at strength 8. German divisions starting in the Steppe may be held in reserve, and rebuild at the end of German Reserve Phase if not moved. Holding Box D is intended for destroyed Germans. **SOVIET REINFORCEMENTS** **Turn Record Track** (correction): The Soviet 37th Guards division appears on Turn 6 at strength G. The A division appearing on Turn 6 should instead appear on Turn 5. Soviet artillery on Turn 2 is 2 Artillery points (regardless of possession of Mamayev, Kurgan, etc.). Soviet artillery availability increase to A4 on turn 9. **BIG BATTLE** (correction t Section 5.8): Both dice (D-CRT and A-CRT) are rolled ADDITIONALLY for every 10 defending strength points (after supply, strongpoint, etc.), i.e. units of defense strencth 10 to 19 cause two rolls, 20 to 29 cause three rolls, etc... Change reference in Section 5.2.5 to "Roll ADDITIONALLY on the D-CRT..." **OVERRUN** (addition to Section 5.12.5): The instant the "days" exceed six, the overrunning unit can conduct one ADDITIONAL overrun, but it must be against the same defending unit that it just overran before. Herafter the disruption takes effect. Clairification to the first turns: the number of "days" for diruption is the same, although the turns are shorter. **DIE MODIFIERS TO CUT-OFF** (clairification to Section 5.6.1): The two bottom die-roll modifiers at the bottom of the Defender- Loss CRT (defender in strongpoint -1, defender part of surrounding force -1) are actually modifiers to the Cut-Off Table. Chuikov modifies the die by one in Soviet favor. **STEPPE TO ORLOVKA ENTRY ATTACKS** (clairification to Section 5.11.2): Players may wish to draw "trench lines" on the playing map between Orlovka West and Steppe III and Steppe IV, and between Orlovka North and and Steppe IV to mark that units attacking from the Steppes into Orlovka Salient are halved in entry attack. (compared with Tsaritsa Gully). **GERMAN STEPPE CONTROL** (clairification to Section 4.3.3): "...which are always German dominatd..." should read "...which are always German controlled when empty..." **TIMING OF GERMAN STUKA ATTACKS** (clairification): Stuka attacks are separate attacks and may thus not interrupt the Combat Sequence of another attack in progress. Stuka attacks may be called in the German Attack, Move and Reserve Phases. In the two latter phases, Stuka my interrupt between two overruns by one unit. Stuka attacks do not count in the limit of two attacks against the Dzerzhinsky Tractor Works. **(OPTIONAL RULE)** **GERMAN 389th INF and KG STAHEL Variable Entry:** These two units must enter together in the same area, on Turn 1, 2 or 3, at the German player's discretion. Either: Turn 1 in Steppe II with 389th INF two steps below full strength, i.e. 389 (5) and KG Stahel (+5), or Turn 2 in Steppe II with 389th INF one step below full strength, i.e. 389 (7) and KG Stahel (+5), or Turn 3 in Steppe I, II, III or IV with 389th INF at full strength, i.e. 389 (9) and KG Stahel (+5), or Since there is no high-strength counter for 389 INF use any other German Infantry counter, for instance 305th or 79th. The historical turn of entry was Turn 3. **(OPTIONAL RULE)** **GERMAN 1. PANZER ARMY MOVEMENT ON TURN 1:** Units of 1. Panzer Army, starting in Yelshanka, may cross the First Turn Army Boundry, at a penalty.
