From: MIHSUPPORT Subject: mih IBS II Questions & Answers Q: Torpedo combat is "talked about" but I still am not sure how to interpret the numbers on the Torpedo Table or even execute torpedo fire. Can someone help explain it? A: Go through the example on page 12 slowly. Remember in your mind that you are trying to lead a target, and if you are firing Japanese 24’ Long Lance torpedoes they run for a long time. Q: Curious why the Hiei and Kirishima are listed as BCs and not BBs which they were. A: This can be argued both ways. They are officially listed as BBs but were built and act as BCs. Q: When moving, can you change facing 1 hexside _after_ expending your last MF to enter a hex? I said no, but my son used it to good advantage! A: Yes, that is legal - remember the first move on next turn must be straight ahead. Q: If Secondary guns fire on a different target than the Primary guns there is a +3 modifier on BOTH fires, correct? A: Yes. Q: There seems to be two different DRs for possible fire on a blocking ship. One in section 6.12 and another on the Gunnery modifications chart (see "ALSO:"). Which one should be used? A: 6.12 is correct with the +2 if the friendly ship is on fire. Q: On gunnery modifications card, under D. optional Modifiers, does "Acquired target previous turn" mean seeing the target or do you need to have fired on it? A: It means you fired on it the previous turn. On the Collision & Torpedo Hit Damage Table under Range Modifiers, I want to move: „American Torpedoes in 1942: -1“ as a modifier that you can have with the other modifiers. Jack Greene
