From: David Wessman Subject: Grunwald Q&A Forwarded from XTR's website: Here are two "Grunwald" rules questions/answers. (1) In 6.3, the rule states that disrupted units that leave an enemy zone of control cannot renter any EZOC during the same movement phase. Can I presume that disrupted units which do not START in an EZOC also cannot enter any EZOC during its movement phase? 1 Answer: Disrupted units that start their movement phase outside an EZOC can enter an EZOC -- please see 8.3 for the effects of disruption. (2) In the 5.5 general description of the combat phase, it states that all enemy units ADJACENT to your units must be attacked. However in 6.4 and 9.1, the rules state that only units IN AN EZOC must attack, and conversely, all enemy units in your unit's ZOC must be attacked. Which is the correct rule? This is a confusing issue with respect to disrupted units, because they do not exert zones of control. 2- Answer: With the exception of the wagon laager unit, which never attacks, rule 5.5 states the case most fully: "...all units then found to be adjacent to one or more enemy units across playable hexsides must be attacked by at least one of those units..." Ty Bomba And some more: 1) Can a disrupted unit that doesn't start the turn in an EZOC enter one? A1) No. 2) Can you move along a slope without paying the additional cost? Here are examples of how we played the movement costs for slopes in our first game: 1420->1319 1MP 1319->1318 1MP 1319->1219 2MP Is this right? A2) Yes & Yes, all correct. 3) I presume you can charge disrupted units, even though they don't have EZOCs. A3) Yes. If you have movement left after such a charge, can you keep moving, or does charging end your turn? A3b) It ends the charging unit's move for that turn. 4) The disruption of the charging unit takes place after the charge? A4) Yes. 5) If you've entered an EZOC, but there is also a disrupted enemy unit next to you, can you charge the disrupted unit instead of the one exerting an EZOC? A5) Yes, it's the moving player's choice. 6) Can you charge units you start next to without leaving and coming back? A6) Yes. Ty Bomba
