A reader pointed out to me that there was a contradiction between the books that I used for my source material and The Ultra Secret. The Ultra Secret states that Freyberg knew that the assault would occur on May 20th, While all other sources indicate that he was informed that the attack would occur on May 17th. Whatever the case, Freyberg’s actions of the first day show that he either did not possess the necessary information of chose to completely ignore it. While I find it hard to believe that Freyberg wa s that incompetent, I must bow to the wisdom of the author of The Ultra Secret, who researched the matter thoroughly. Mea culpa.
