From: Markus Stumptner Subject: Campaign for Guadalcanal errata Here are some (apparently official) errata for 3W's Campaign for Guadalcanal (taken from F&M 98). Markus Errata for 3W's Campaign for Guadalcanal I. HENDERSON FIELD 1. Section 2.2 (correction): The unit illustrated should be described as the 2nd Battalion, 228th Regiment, of the 38th division. 2. Section 2.22 (correction): U.S. army unit counters are green with light green print; U.S. Marine unit counters are green with white print. 3. Section 5.4 (clarification): If a unit is both entrenched and disrupted, the (+1) modifier is added to a unit's combat strength AFTER it is halved for disruption. 4. Section 5.73 (add): To the end of the first sentence add the following "..., or when in combat with adjacent enemy units." 5. Section 12.4 (clarification): If a player elects to return a previously eliminated unit back into play, and the unit is placed in any friendly occupied hex. 6. Scenario 15.3 (add): The U.S. player sets up his units first. 7. Henderson Field Map (important correction): The number of 13 November U.S. replacement units should read "x1" not "x4". (NOTE: This was a very understandable printing error. This particular replacement unit was known as the 4th Replacement Battalion). II. LONG LANCE 1. Section 2.42 (clarification): The illustrated gunnery marker should have the "12" identified as the Attack Strength and the "20" as the Range Allowance. The illustrated torpedo marker should have the "8" identified as the Torpedo Attack Strength. 2. Section 6.31 Damage Point Table (clarification): A zero "0" result is treated as a "miss" or no effect. 3. Section 6.32 Gunfire CRT (clarification): Odds less than 1:2 have no effect; odds greater than 6:1 are treated as 6:1. 4. Section 14.11 (clarification): The Special Damage Table is referred to only when rolling an unmodified "7" or "11" on the Torpedo Combat Results Table. 5. Long Lance Map: A directional compass should be printed on the map, so that "A" is above 3330 and theo other coordinates proceed around it clockwise, alphabetically.
