Here are the answers to questions plus what little official errata there is for BOMBS AWAY, the WW2 strategic card game that appeared in GameFix #4. For a single copy or a 12-issue sub, call toll free 800-784-4404. Visa/MC accepted by phone. Q: What is the Allied build number? Is it four as for the Axis? Or does the Allied build only through event cards? A: "SAME STEPS" IN VI.B MEANS WHAT IT SAYS. THE ALLIES GET 4 POINTS, BUT OF CO URSE THEY DON'T LOSE ANY TO BOMBING. Q: Do both sides still draw two event cards ea. turn? A: NO. THE CARDS HANDED OUT FOR FREE AT THE START (I.B.3) ARE JUST TO GET THINGS STARTED. THEREAFTER, YOU HAVE TO BUY THEM (VI.A.2). Q: Does aircraft development go like this: first a card moves from the "Unresearched" pile to "Researched" once it appears on turn card Only then can the card move into the "Available" pile once actually built or received by event. If so, does it take 2 turns once an aircraft card becomes "researched" to appear in play? A: YOU HAVE THE ORDER RIGHT, BUT IT CAN ALL HAPPEN ON ONE TURN. AN AIRCRAFT CAN BE MOVED TO "RESEARCHED" DURING STEP #1 OF THE TURN SEQUENCE, AND THEN BE BUILT DURING STEPS #5 OR #6 AT THE END OF THE SAME TURN. Q: Can aircraft destroyed during a turn be rebuilt right away and return to play? A: YES. Here is the official errata: CARDS "Blockbuster Attack" cards should end with "...must make one Surrender draw." "World War Heats Up" cards should end with "...and the Event deck is reshuffled." RULES V.A.1 Axis Surrender: Ignore reference to modifiers, which were dropped from the final version of the game. Simply draw and card and read the number: if it is a "1," then surrender occurs. Otherwise, nothing happens.
