Dave Starry - 11:10pm Dec 22, 1998 PST (#2 of 3) Spokane, WA Back to Black Sea * Black Death ; seeing that Jack Radey was on-line recently and had provided his e-mail address, I decided to drop him a quick note to voice my support of this particular series of games. Also, since the only errata I had ever seen for Black Sea * Black Death was the little bit at the end of the rulebook, I thought I would take the opportunity to see if there were any other clarifications for that game that I should be aware of for my upcoming sessions. Well, Mr. Radey dropped a bit of a bombshell in the form of a some of map errata which apparently has never been published anywhere. Following is the pertinent information: "There are a few errata, never published anywhere as far as I remember. The first problem is that the coast line from south of Stanichka around the point to the stream and past it to the cliff south of Mt. Myshako is all cliff, except for openings at Alexina, one hex on either side of the Myshako Stream, and at the Fish Factory. Oh ho, that changes a few things. Other than that, the small number of city symbols in the hex next to and West of Novorossisk are not supposed to be there (printer's error) and I believe that that is about it." The second clarification was actually included at the end of the original rulebook. It's the first change that really puts a new spin on things. Anyone who has played this game or who owns a copy and takes a look at the map will concur that by adding these cliffs the potential landing sites for the Soviet amphibious operation appear to be extremely diminished. Needless to say, my prospective Soviet opponent is a bit miffed...
