Mike Rizzo - 01:31pm Dec 13, 1998 PST (#461 of 468) [ Mark ] My recent questions seemed to have sunk into the recent time warp so I'm reposting them. Perhaps Kevin would be so kind as to repost the answers. 1807 Questions Q1. Does the attrition modifier for cavalry during Mud Weather only apply to an all cavalry force? Q2. The rules on damaging bridges says if the enemy occupies any hex adjacent to the damaging/repairing force, a DRM applies. The Bridging Table and errata refer to only the other hex adjacent to the bridged hexside. Which is it? Campaigns of Napoleon Series Questions Q3. If artillery bombardment destroys the enemy force before attack resolution, how is pursuit handled? Q4. If a force retreats through enemy controlled hexes, but the winning side cannot pursue due to having artillery, are losses still doubled? Q5. Let's say a multi-hex force contacts an enemy force with one of its subordinate forces. Can another Leader move up to contact, take command of the subordinate force and attack the enemy force with the resulting multi-hex force (assuming the command span is sufficient)? Q6. If a counterattack causes a retreat of part of a multi-hex force (either attacker or defender), does the remaining part have to remain for the next round of combat or can it retreat as well? If so, does this require that the retreating part have a Leader with sufficient command span to command the rest of the retreating force? ------------------------- kzucker - 07:57am Dec 17, 1998 PST (#463 of 468) [ Mark ] Mike, Here are the answers to your 1807 Questions. Enjoy the game! A1. You only apply the attrition modifier for cavalry during Mud if the cavalry component of the force expended the most MPs. A2. The DRM applies only if the enemy occupies the other hex adjacent to the bridged hexside. Campaigns of Napoleon Series Questions A3. If artillery bombardment destroys the enemy force before attack resolution, the friendly force may advance into the vacated hex. If you want to pursue a force, make sure you don't completely destroy it in bombardment. A4. If a force retreats through enemy controlled hexes, but the winning side cannot pursue due to having artillery, losses are still doubled. A5. If a multi-hex force contacts an enemy force with one of its subordinate forces, another Leader can move up to contact, take command of the subordinate force and attack the enemy force with the resulting multi-hex force (assuming the command span is sufficient). A Force is re-defined at the moment of combat. The shape of the force for movement is a separate matter. A6. If a counterattack causes a retreat of part of a multi-hex force (either attacker or defender), the remaining part must remain for the next round of combat (it cannot retreat as well).
